Mark J. Morabito
B.A., J.D.
Executive Chairman

Mr. Morabito has over 15 years’ experience in public markets with a strong focus on junior mining with extensive experience in capital-raising and corporate development. Mr. Morabito founded and has been the principal driving force behind a number of successful resource development companies including Alderon Iron Ore Corporation, Crosshair Energy Corporation, Excelsior Mining Corp and others. He is also the founder of EGM Exploration Group Management Corp, which is now part of Forbes & Manhattan as Forbes West, overseeing all of the Forbes and Manhattan western North American operations. Mr.Morabito has a BA from Simon Fraser University and completed his J.D. at the University of Western Ontario.  He practiced Corporate Finance and Securities Law in Toronto and Vancouver prior to becoming a principal in the mining industry.


Tayfun Eldem

President and Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Eldem worked for the Iron Ore Company of Canada, a Rio Tinto subsidiary, for more than 20 years, including 3 years as a Director on the joint-venture Board. During this period, Mr. Eldem held many senior roles including Vice President, Expansion Projects & Engineering and Vice President, Operations & Engineering. Most recently Mr. Eldem was accountable for the development and delivery of a nearly $2.0 billion program of green and brown fields expansion projects. Prior to his Projects role, Mr. Eldem was responsible for all of IOC’s Operations including the mine, process plants, rail and port facilities. Mr. Eldem led a team of about 2,000 to deliver two consecutive years of record annual material movement at the mine and record ore processing through the concentrator. He will be instrumental in maintaining our aggressive timeline to production.  Mr. Eldem holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Dalhousie University along with Operations & Strategic Management Certificates from Richard Ivey School of Business and London Business School.
 

Keith Santorelli

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Santorelli has over 16 years of progressive experience in management and executive leadership roles in various industries. He has a wide range of expertise in various areas of complex US GAAP and IFRS accounting in both publicly traded and private companies in the United States, Canada and internationally. Keith also has experience in group structuring and financing, IFRS conversion and training, financial management, external reporting and employee professional development. Mr. Santorelli holds a Bachelor's degree in Accountancy from the University of Massachusetts, as well as an MA from McGill University, and speaks four languages.


Bernard Potvin
Eng.
Executive VP, Project Execution

Mr. Potvin has over 37 years of experience in mining and processing operations and brings with him substantial expertise in engineering, maintenance, project development and construction. Throughout his career Mr. Potvin has held senior roles at Quebec Cartier Mining, Reynolds Metals, Alcoa and the Iron Ore Company of Canada ("IOC"), a Rio Tinto subsidiary. During his tenure at IOC, Mr. Potvin held the role of General Manager of Expansion Projects, successfully managing green and brown field expansion projects in Labrador City and Sept Îles. Mr. Potvin has extensive project management experience in iron ore and aluminum, and has executed a number of successful projects in excess of $1 billion. Mr. Potvin holds a Mechanical Engineering Degree from Laval University.


Todd Burlingame

Executive VP - Environment and Aboriginal Affairs

Mr. Burlingame has been involved in the Canadian mining sector for over 25 years and advancing mega projects through the environmental assessment process and negotiating with First Nations across Canada for more than 20 years.  Mr. Burlingame has served as Chairman and CEO of two Federal Environmental Assessment and Permitting Boards which were responsible for permitting and licensing all major projects in the Northwest Territories.  For the past six years Mr. Burlingame has focussed on projects in Newfoundland and Labrador including Vale Inco's nickel processing plant in Long Harbour and the 3000 megaWatt Lower Churchill Project located in Labrador.  Mr. Burlingame holds a bachelor's degree in Geology from the University of British Columbia.


Gary Norris

Executive VP - Government and Community Affairs

Mr. Norris has over 30 years of experience working for the Newfoundland and Labrador Government, most recently as the Clerk of the Executive Council and Secretary to Cabinet, the most senior public servant in the provincial government. Mr. Norris has also held a number of other senior Executive positions including, Assistant Deputy Minister of Environment, and Deputy Minister of Intergovernment Affairs Secretariat. Mr. Norris holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Economics from Memorial University of Newfoundland.


Simon Marcotte

Vice President of Business Development

Mr. Marcotte has 14 years of capital market experience and has been a partner of Cormark Securities for 4 years in institutional equity sales.  He also sat on the board of Directors of Cormark Securities.  Prior to that, Mr. Marcotte was a Director for CIBC World Markets in Montreal for 8 years.  Mr. Marcotte holds a B.A.A. from Sherbrooke University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).


Patrick Gleeson,
J.D., M.A.
Corporate Secretary

Mr. Gleeson is a practicing corporate finance and securities lawyer. Prior to establishing his own private public company services corp, he was a lawyer at a major Canadian law firm, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions. He holds a J.D. and a M.A. from the University of Toronto, and obtained a B.A. from Queen's University.


Ken Brophy
Director of Aboriginal & Community Affairs

Mr. Brophy has over 15 years experience in the mining sector with a focus on exploration projects across Canada. His proven track record includes accomplishments in project management, strategic planning, and Aboriginal and community relations along with team building success within both the exploration and energy industries. Mr. Brophy's recent experience includes involvement in Environmental Assessments, consultation efforts with Aboriginal groups and businesses, community engagement, managing procurement and logistical obligations, and implementing Health, Safety and Environmental procedures.


Sheila Paine
Assistant Corporate Secretary

For the past 5 years, Ms. Paine has acted as Corporate Secretary for a number of public companies trading on various stock exchanges. In addition, Ms. Paine has over 20 years experience as a legal assistant, specializing in corporate, securities and regulatory matters. Ms. Paine was a legal assistant to a senior partner in the securities department of a large international law firm. During that time, Ms. Paine was responsible for, among other things, assisting clients with financings, regulatory filings, administering stock option plans, drafting agreements and other legal documents, and working with other staff of the law firm to coordinate the papering and closing of various transactions for public companies.


Edward Lyons
P.Geo.
Chief Geologist

Mr. Lyons has been an active exploration and development geologist for over 35 years and has been involved in a variety of projects in North and South America, including the Labrador Trough iron ore projects of Consolidated Thompson Iron Mines Ltd.  From 2002 to 2008, Mr. Lyons worked for Quinto Mining Corp (Quinto), which had projects in northeast Quebec and western Labrador.  Quinto was purchased by Consolidated Thompson in June 2008 and Mr. Lyons continued on as Chief Geologist into 2009.  During his time with Consolidated Thompson, Mr. Lyons executed a 12,000 metre (m) program that generated a resource of approximately 700 million tonnes at 30% Iron oxide.  From his experience in the Labrador Trough, Mr. Lyons has a thorough understanding of the structural and metallurgical complexities of these types of deposits.
